After watching this TED talk by Andrew Tarvin, I reflected on how we need humor in our personal and professional lives.

The Skill of Humor | Andrew Tarvin | TEDxTAMU

According to Andrew, humor has the following benefits:

Makes people listen to the message Increases long-term memory Increases understanding Helps with teaching Helps communicate the message Increases group cohesion Decreases social status differences Decreases conflicts Builds trust Brings people together We are in a world where we can be canceled by society and we have to be careful with everything we say. Of course we need common sense! But we don't need to make things heavier than they already are... We already have COVID, working from home, social distancing...

Andrew explains how to use humor to connect with people. And this is a skill (soft skill) that we really need these days, because to build great things we need people!

As my grandfather says: "Those without money tell stories!" May we use humor to tell our stories and connect with people to build new stories!
